Are you stuck?
It's hard to think beyond yourself when a person doesn't know them self. In other words, who are you, why are you here? Here are some suggestions to experiment with to help you enjoy the continual adventure of learning about your self.
- First of all....YOU are needed in this world and you can make a huge impact with what you truly love to do.
- Create your own personal mission statement. (more info coming soon)
- If no one has said this to you before we're going to: YOU can become anything you want to, have faith and make it happen.
- Give to others, a listening ear, a helping hand, etc. (do more)
- Do something at least every week that is out of your comfort zone. You never know what you might like to do until you try it. God didn't choose us to be on this earth to be comfortable. 'Salt' up your life, add some flavor. You must do this to succeed! Be smart about what you choose do to: don't break the law or put any life, including yours, in harm.
- Draw out your life and where you want to be in 5 yrs, 10 yrs....essentially create a plan in timeline form.
- Try to read the Bible everyday. The Bible is your best teacher of how to live life. The Bible doesn't age. Here is an online devotional to help with your journey. (Upper Room Devotional).
- Do what you like to do! If you don't know what you like think back to your childhood and try to remember what you liked to do.....then DO IT! It's fun.
- Stop with addictions. Addictions numb life. It's like someone putting a kink in a water hose, your life being the flowing water. People with bad addictions make life so much harder to live. It doesn't have to be that way. Find professional help or be a friend to someone who is suffereing from additions. Easier said than done, but YOU can totally beat this!
- Eat a better diet and improve your exercise routine. The Holy Spirit lives in you not in a Twinkie. For diet and exercise suggestions visit Snack Smarts.
- Tithe (give 10% of your income to God. He is letting you keep 90%).
- Surround yourself with positive-ness. Positive people, positive movies, positive music like WCSG Radio, positive places, and positive language. This really makes a huge difference. What you see, hear, and feel reflects on how a person acts. Try to not watch the news or read the paper for a week to see if it makes a difference.
- Be polite and use your manners.
- Ask God to reveal joy to you. Surrender and ask him to help you discover your gifts and how to use them.
- Look at people in the eye and listen to what they have to say.
- Get online and listen to motivating speakers or Pastors. They have something to say to you. And it's good!
- Find a local church that you like. This takes time and some 'church shopping'. Don't give up. If you have to, find one online but make sure you 'attend' every week and tithe to it.
- Take responsibility for your actions and words.
- Participate in an extreme sport to two. It's an awesome thrill and builds confidence!

Joy verses Happiness
In Psalm 4:7 from the Life Application Study Bible it talks about two kinds of joy
"- inward joy that comes from knowing and trusting God and happiness that comes as a result of pleasant circumstances. Inward joy is steady as long as we trust God; happiness is unpredictable. Inward joy defeats discouragement; happiness covers it up. Inward joy is lasting; happiness is temporary."
What is Joy?
Here are some great verses to look up to learn more about joy .
